For years now, Clay and I have talked about doing a Lobster Bake. We see them all the time on T.V. and always turn to each other and say....
We should do that!
So this weekend..that's JUST what we did!
We ordered 12 Lobsters from Maine and had a Good Ol' Fashion Lobster bake.
New England style!
The Menu is very Specific
Lobster of course
Cockles (clams)
Corn
Baked Potatoes
Beer
And for those afraid of our friends from the sea- Tri-Tip.
The Lobsters arrived this morning packed on ice
Some of us were VERY excited to have live lobsters on our counter
Some of us weren't so sure...
We were ready in our Lobster attire
so was the deck in Blue and Red Lobster-y deco
We researched the best way to have a Bake when you have no ocean and sand.....
And found that a 30 gallon trash can was your best bet.
(gotta love You-Tube)
I was quality control...
There was lots of love for the Lobsters
I must admit, we had quite the spread.....
Including Lobster and Clam Cupcakes
(Love Sinful Bliss! If you haven't had these cupcakes yet- you are missing out!)
We had the perfect turn out. Not too many, not too little.
Laura stopped by...but had to leave...Awww..Sad... (it was Connors actual Birthday- Happy Birthday Connor!)
I can't believe how big they are getting!
(no pics of the Girls together.....They were not cooperating...)
Maddie enjoyed her Last Round of "Happy Birthday"
And one final cupcake
Aunt Lindsey was kind enough to assemble Madeline's Gift from Aunt Laura
Maddie loves her Auntie Lindsey
For Maddie's Birthday, she got a special lobster necklace and headband just for today.
And a new purse....
(omg. How cute is this purse???)
So jealous I cannot see straight!!
ReplyDeleteYuuuuuuummmm. You are the only people I know that are talented/brave enough to take that on.
