Jack turns 8!

Jack's Birthday was packed with fun this year.
Friday started the festivities with me bringing donuts into the classroom

Jack loved passing out treats to his classmates.

Saturday the fun continued at the Zoo!
I love that Jack still loves the Zoo.

The petting Zoo is his favorite.

Jen and the Gang joined us for an afternoon of fun.

Sunday was Jack's actual Birthday.  He was up and at em early.  He couldn't wait to open his gifts.  So we let him.

Before we knew it, it was time to party at 2 Xtreme Jump Arena.
Jack was SO excited.

His only requests were:
1) All of his friends to be invited
2) He wanted a Camouflage party.

Done and Done.

We had then entire arena to ourselves!

Jack LOVED it.

Who doesn't love a foam pit???

Aunt Brit and Uncle Ben made the long haul.  Jack was so excited when he saw them Saturday night.

I cheated and went to Party City for all things Camo.
No hand made here.

No pinterest.

Just me, party city and google (to find the cake lady)

;)

Camo masks, and bags and dog tags for all!

The cake was the best part.

I found an adorable cake lady locally and she did the cupcakes and cake.
Jack kept asking if he could keep all the army men.

He spent most of his time playing with the cake toppers instead of eating his cake!

We had a great turn out.

Lots of smiling faces.

We are so lucky to have so many friends in our new town!

Jack waited until we were home to open his gifts.

Nerf Guns and Legos a plenty.
He was a very happy boy.

We sang one last time.
And ate some camo snickerdoodle cake.

Ahhhhhh Brotherly love....

Eight. Years. Old.

I can't believe it.

It feels like yesterday I was decorating your nursery. Wondering what you would be like.

And here you are.

My Guys Guy.

You are definitely all things boy Mr. Kirby.

Your Dad is your very best friend.  But you don't mind a little cuddle session from your Mom now and then. You wear your heart on your sleeve and you have the biggest heart.  You are still a ball of energy, but enjoy down time in your room just hanging out.  You love Legos and you especially love Nerf Guns.  You are convinced you will be in the military just like your Daddy and no one can tell you otherwise.  You still love to go to school and would play all day outside if I'd let you.

I am so thankful to have you in my life.  You make your Father and I very happy.  You always have.

You are just the best Son a Mom could ask for.

You are officially no longer my little boy. You are quickly turning into a person. Your very own person, with your very own ideas and thoughts.  No longer can you be persuaded by Mom to do "cute" things.  I guess I should just be happy you still smile for my camera.  The days of "fashion show!" are long gone.....But that's okay.  Now we have hours of Connect Four and Uno.  You are my social butterfly....(I wonder where you get that from..)  You try your hardest to put up with your Sister...but let's be honest...Sisters can stink sometimes.  You do love her. And you protect her.  And when the two of you have conversations in the back of my mini van you melt my heart.

7 was a pretty good  year for you buddy.  You are quite the athlete and made the transition to a new town with ease. You amaze me everyday.

I just know 8 has great things in store for you.

As we have said all week.

Eight is Great.

Here is to an even better year.

Happy Birthday Jack Man.

I love you to the moon and back.
