Pre-Thanksgiving Extravaganza!

Mom decided she would do Thanksgiving a week early, in hopes to gather all her children into one place.

She succeeded.

Not only was there enough food to feed a small army, but there was so much excitement too!

Mom set a nice table, complete with festive head dress.

I arrived just in time to carve the Turkey.

Madeline enjoying some rutabagas
(I swear that child will eat anything.)

Jack enjoyed his meal of mashed potatoes.
(That's it. Mashed potatoes. He would not touch the turkey, or stuffing, or anything else. )

Three Generations of Bakers
Grandma Robertson made the Cherry, Mom made her famous Caramel Topped Apple pie and I made my first Pumpkin Cheesecake!

Mom had some assistance whipping the cream to top the pies

Madeline knew just what she wanted....

While we enjoyed dessert it started to snow!

We were hopeful that sledding was in our future...but by morning the snow was gone.

Boo.

No need to fear, the boys found ways to spend the day...

I went outside to check on them, and this is what I found:
Let me bring it in closer for you....
That is my Son.  Swinging from a Tree.  On a garden hose.

Men are awesome.

With Mom being a kill-joy, the boys had to find a new way to pass the time...
So they went Four-wheeling in Dad's old Blazer.
Which got stuck, in a Ditch, and took them all afternoon to pull out.

The Day wasn't a total waste....
Mom's dryer went out, and Dad was able to fix it with assistance from his two favorite apprentices.

Trigg had the time of his life

And as we sat at my Mom's kitchen table we had this to look at out her window:
So amazing.

Mom living so far away is a Love/Hate thing.
I love to visit and enjoy everything her town has to offer, but I hate how far she is from me and my family. (Sometimes a girl just needs her Mom)

We also worked on a special project...
coming soon to a mailbox near you....

Here is a sneak peak....

:)

Thanks Mom and Dad for a great weekend.
(If it hadn't been for that suicidal deer on the way home the weekend would have been a Perfect 10.)

You took the picture outside?! So cute! How was it warm enough there for your brother to wear a shirt with no sleeves?
