Let's Catch Up...

Okay.

I'm behind.

By a whole weekend.

Let's review:

Last weekend I went to a Baby Shower for Summer

Just for fun...Here is a pic of Summer from MY shower for Madeline
(this is my all time favorite photo of Sums)

And here she is now....
Sums, You look so Awesome.

The shower was thrown
by her Sister at her Mom's house
She did a great job.

She even made the cake.

Madeline was invited too.

It was her first Baby Shower out of the womb.
She spent most of her time playing with Stella....(and the Balloons)

I even saw Kim!

Maddie was asleep 2.5 seconds after we left.

It was so much fun to see Summer and Kim.  Two ladies I wish I saw more often.

Sooooo.....that was last weekend....

On to THIS weekend.

My Mom came down for the weekend and Brit, Mom and I hit the largest Garage Sale in our area.
50 homes in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Walnut Creek.

We did pretty good, if I do say so myself...
in fact..there is a project in that trunk I will be working on soon....
(watch out Heather and Tegan!)

Sunday we Celebrated Everything Dad.
Mr. Kirbyface's morning started with some Coffee out of his brand new handmade mug from Jack.

Followed by some Sweet Bread French Toast a la Momma and Maddie.

Since I wasn't able to spend Mother's day with Mom, I decided I should bring her breakfast in bed to make up for it.
(she shared with Maddie....)

It finally feels like Summer here!
So off to the pool we went!

We worked on floating

and blowing Bubbles

And...

making..
Big splashes!

Happy Fathers Day Honey!!!

I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

I love you!

Happy Birthday Ann!

By now you know most of my family members through this whole Blog thing, but most are blood.  This next Birthday Post is for someone that has been "Married" into Our Crazy Family.

And I couldn't have selected a more perfect Aunt if I tried.
(have I mentioned that God always knows best)

Ann is Married to Uncle Joe.

I met Ann when Uncle Joe brought her to a family BBQ.  I had overheard my Aunt Kathy and My Mom discussing the "New Girl" Joe was bringing home.  There was a lot of discussion.  Mom mentioned to Kathy that if Joe and Ann ended up getting Married they already have a perfect name for their first born. Joanne.
I thought that was quite amusing as an 11 year old.

So when Ann walked in the house and I met her for the first time, that's just what I told her.

Not Hi.

 Not Hello.

I said, "My Mom said if you and Joe have a baby you can name it Joanne."

My Mother immediately shot me the "I'm going to Kill you when I get you alone" look.

and Ann....Just giggled, and said "Maybe" and winked at me.

I loved her instantly.

I loved her Tercel that was a stick shift that she would let me shift from second to third when she drove.  I loved the Heavy Metal Big Hair band music she listened to. I loved her Awesome Haircut and her pegged jeans.  She was the coolest.

Well....

As it turned out, Joe did marry Ann. And we all were thrilled.

 She was the perfect girl.

It's so much fun to absolutely love someone that is soon going to be a member of your family.  (I have the same excitement for Brit to join our family)

Joe and Ann have 3 amazing kids.  None of which are named Joanne.

Ann is my Go-To for lots of things.  #1 on that list- All medical questions go through Ann first.  She is a nurse, and I have made her my own personal on call, all knowing medical advisor.  She is so calm, and always gives me exactly the amount of compassion I need mixed with the advice and guidance for whatever the circumstance may be.
She's always there to listen to me when I need to bend her ear, no matter the subject.
She is a wonderful example of a Mother.
An Amazing friend.
and an Aunt like no other.

I'm so lucky to have her in my life.

Thank you Ann for all you do.

I love you!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

Weekend in Pictures

This weekend started off with a Bang!
A Birthday Bang!
We went into San Francisco and Celebrated Tegan's 30th Birthday.
First some of the Birthday Girl's favorites...
Oyster's and Beer...
Even Lindsey tried them....

Then off to At & t park

Of course there were Nachos!
(this one's for you Rose)

Bo made it just in time for the Big Win.
(love these ladies....)

Saturday Morning had an early start full of Grocery Shopping and errands...and then...
We brought out the Aerobed and set up a perfect rainy afternoon movie viewing lounge area.

Our afternoon included a fashion show with new outfits from GiGi.

Some Wii....And some more swimsuit changes...

Sunday started with some late spring cleaning...
(Man our new couch is HUGE)

Then Costco!

Some afternoon relax time with Mr. Kirbyface in our newly cleaned living room...

A quick look at my new watch my husband got for me at a bargain price of 1 penny.
(I mentioned that I wanted a white watch for Summer.  - white is a whole other story- I am one of those girls who will only wear white from Memorial Day to Labor Day, call me old school, or outdated, or that all the fashionista's say it's fine...it's not OKAY in my book. So. There.- Anyway....this is my new penny watch- set to My time on the bottom and Minnesota time on the top- She's my furthest friend I call the most with the largest time zone difference so she wins)

I pulled up to the house early today- just in time for Madeline's nap....Benny was here, and said, it's so weird, she keeps calling your name....I looked up, and saw her- Somebody is big enough to reach her drapes and blinds from her crib.

I guess my week will start with some furniture rearranging....

Hope you had a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Teegie!

Let's talk some Tegan.

Perfect. Perfect. Tegan.

My perfect crafting, baking, decorating, party planning, hard working, cooking, Internet savvy, "Martha Stewart-y", cleaning, organizing, Out-doorsy, Athletic, Speed texting, Girl next door-but so much more, Beautiful Friend Tegan.

I feel like it's necessary to talk about the day we met.

I had just moved to Sacramento, and we were heading to dinner at Macaroni Grill.  All of the girls were there.  Tegan came over to pick us up.  As I climbed in the back seat, I turned to Tegan and said... "Tegan! That's such a Beautiful Name!" Tegan glanced back and said.  "Thanks." and turned back around and started to drive.....

The rest of the night kind of went the same way.....

She will deny this up and down....

But Tegan was not an immediate fan of Heidi.

Shocker. I know.

Let's just say it took some time for us to become friends.  Not long....but sometime.

That Dinner was in May.  Our Friendship Blossomed in August.

Tegan had an annual party in August.
(Annual party?  My. Kind. of. Gal.)

She said she would be setting up for the party all by herself.  I asked her if she would like some help and she surprisingly said yes.

We spent the afternoon in the blistering sun, laughing and hanging grass skirts on anything that didn't move in her house.

We had an instant connection that afternoon.
Events were clearly our thing.
And still continue to be to this day.

Tegan and I have so much in common, and at the same time, are so different.

She is SO organized.  Me. not so much.
She is so Athletic- I mean -COME ON- the girl has a degree in kinesiology- I can't even spell it- let alone keep up with her in ANY sport- including underwater basket weaving, which I'm sure she would excel at as well.
Her patience level is infinite. Me. Ummm ya.
She is tall with a stomach you can bounce quarters off of.  Me. No comment.

However.....

We both work very hard to be the best Mom, Friend, Wife, Daughter, Sister we can be.
We both love a party- Planning it, attending it, looking forward to the next one....
We love to laugh.
We love to cook, create, and share our creations.
We love our girl time, one on one and with the whole gang.
She is the only girl in her family- she only has brothers
We love baseball. Namely-the Giants.
We love anything Pink.
We are spontaneous.
and
try to see the good in everyone.

Tegan is always there with a listening ear.  She is kind, and thoughtful, and an amazing friend.

I'm glad Tegan was cautious in selecting me to be her friend.  I now know why.  Tegan has her group of girls.  They are like Sisters to her. Hand selected Sisters.  Tegan is a wonderful person to know.  But she is an unbelievable person to have as a Best Friend.  And there are very few who understand what I'm talking about.  I'm privileged to be in that group.

Tegan, It's clear you mean the world to me.  I'm so thankful you "came around" and realized you needed me in your life....or maybe you realized that I needed you.  Either way.  Life just works out the way it's supposed to. So Like it our not.  You're stuck with me.

I think it should also be known that you are the "Baby" of our Group, and the Last to celebrate the end of her 20's.  I would like to be the first to Welcome you to your "Dirty Thirties."
It's Awesome here- Glad you could finally join us.

There is so much excitement ahead of you.
And I'm honored to be able to share in all the joy coming your way.

Happy Birthday Tegan, Teegs, T, Teegie, Mrs. Knifton to be...

I know I speak for all of us when I say We Love You!

Yes Jack-man! There IS a Tooth-Fairy!

Well....

It happened!

He had had enough, It was driving him crazy...Just hanging there....

and then with the help of Dad....

it came out!!
(with only a little blood-and NO TEARS!)

He was SO Excited!
And SO BRAVE!

We have our toothless Grin!

:)

He very happily put his tooth under his pillow, and went to bed.

And as we heard his little feet enter his room and shut his door, we both immediately started searching the house for cash.

We had  NOTHING.

Clay and I both never have cash on us.
I even called Lynne next door and asked her if she had a dollar-

Clay had to run up to 7-11 and get some cash back!

But it was worth it, this morning when Mr. Jack-man found his gift from the Tooth Fairy
(Even if it was just 1 dollar)
It didn't matter to him in the least.  To Jack it was the same as $1,000,000.

Love that kid.
When did he get so big?  It really does sneak up on you.
