Out with the old....

We had quite the productive weekend!

It all started with this *little* project....

That's right!

A NEW deck!  Woot! Woot!

Thanks to Justin for working his BUTT off this weekend.  We ALREADY have the new framework completed, and we will soon have a completely re-done deck!  A project that should have been done YEARS ago!

We can't WAIT!
(photos of our complete project very VERY soon!)

Also...

We (and when I say We, I mean, Me and my BIL's GF Casey) tackled this:

Here it is.  In all it's glory.
My Closet.

It's my dirty little secret.  I'm sure my Grandmother is appalled I'm even sharing this photo.  But...if you know me....and most of you do....you have probably at one point or another seen this before....all of you except for my In Laws...but after 14 years...it's time they know.  I keep horrible care of my closet.  I'm constantly cleaning it out, re-working it.  I have had many a woman help me.  My Mother, My Grandmother, Jaime, Tegan, Brit...... But it always seems to end in the same state.  And I usually can talk the party helping me into keeping lots of items I have no use for.  Prom dresses, Pants 2, 3, 4 sizes to big (just in case), shoes I haven't worn in years (because you never know when you are going to need a Black satin platform 4 inch heel with pink bows....)  But Casey.....Casey would not accept any of my what if's or I might, or but I've had it for 10 years..... So here is the out come...

It's a miracle.

Here is the scary truth:

I had 3 Garbage bags of trash in my closet.  Clothes with stains or holes, Plastic bags and wire hangers from the dry cleaners, old shoe boxes, worn out shoes, broken hangers......tons and tons of CRAP.....

Terrible.....

but on the Upside......
Two HUGE bags of clothes to donate.

And for the record....

Clayton's side had just as much junk and clothes to donate as my side!

This project took us most of the day, and it pretty much kicked our butt!  But I'm so glad it's done.

Thank you Casey for all your hard work!

And all of that was just Saturday!

Today...

We went to the Alameda Antique fair!

My MIL is always finding these amazing items at this place, and I have always wanted to go.  Today was my first time!  And Casey came too!

Our Morning started bright and early and we were on the road by 6:20am.  And it was SO worth it.  There are some AWESOME things out there people.  Here are my two favorite purchases:

A soft pink chalkboard to go under my Pink EAT sign my good friend Tegan made me, and an old fashion Glass Milk Bottle carrier complete with Vintage Milk Glass Bottles.  (I'm going to put it in my garden window above my kitchen sink and fill it with flowers)  Love it!  I also got Clay  a new Metal Baseball advertisement poster, and vintage football cleats from the 30's for his ManCave.

We had the Best time!

Speaking of the ManCave....that is our NEXT project.....

Any Volunteers on the Kirbyface Out with the Old....

In with the New!

C'mon.....

You KNOW you want to!

Hooray for May!

May 1st, 2011.

A Milestone in the Kirbyface Household.

A New Beginning.

A Fresh Start.

We were part of the millions of people that purchased their home at the wrong time, for the wrong amount, with the wrong loan.

All of that changed today.

After months and months of hard work, our original loan has been modified and our home is really ours.

The right amount, the right time, the right loan.

Hooray!

I can't say this is our forever house....because who knows what life has in store for us....

But I will say, it's our home until life demands change that location.

And I'm happy about that.

Both my children were brought home here.

and with their Mother moving 10 times before the age of 10, growing up in one house was one of the most important factors of raising children to me.

So Hooray for May, and New beginnings.

**Must have been why the weather was so amazing today....**

Somebody knew we had something to celebrate.

M.I.A.

To say life's been busy, would be an understatement.

Between, work and kids, and our home, and weddings and showers.....

It's been crazy.

I'll try and catch up soon.

to keep you coming back....

Here's a sneak peak of current chaos:

My dining room....
and my brother ripping up my old floors....

that go into my living room.....
(that's my Dad-who is The Ultimate Mr. Fix-It, love him)

Remodeling with two small children aint easy....

but we are getting through it.

More to come.

Soon....

I promise.....

It's not all bad....

Clay's home. Yay!

And life is pretty much back to normal.

I failed to mention the positives this last weekend.

Lindsey and I accomplished a lot!

My house stayed fairly clean the whole weekend...

And I finally finished my photo wall. (Thanks to Lindsey...)
I'm so happy with how it turned out!

Have I mentioned that I have the most amazing photographer on the planet??!!
Laura Cottril is our family photographer.

This December will mark Laura being our
 photographer for 5 years.
Every picture on this wall was done by her.
She is so talented!

I also added Jack's 4 year birthday shoot to the stairwell.

Every year on Jack's Birthday we do a photo shoot of Jack in Clay's Military Uniform.
(Best idea I've ever had- it's so fun to see Jack grow into the coat.)

And....Our Neighbor Lynne is back from her two week vacation to China!
She is my savior.  It's so nice to have her next door.  She is Madeline's BFF.

Lynne brought Madeline some treasures back from China..

Madeline had to put them on IMMEDIATELY....

Maddie is almost back to her old self.....

Thank god!

Here is a shot from this weekend....

Poor Baby......

Lindsey took this one......
(pretty good for an amateur....   ;) ...  you know I'm kidding!)

P.s.  Linds made fun of my photo taking all weekend.  First she called me a shutterbug..and I told her my Mamarazzi Joke I got from a favorite blog I read...and she could not stop making fun of me.
Whatever.
I told her when I'm dead you'll be glad I'm such a shutter-bug.

So Shutter-up.

Lindsey.

I'm so glad the cold weather is here.
And tonight is our first one of these of the season...

I love Fall!
I also love Mr. Kirbyface hangin by the fire....
(Have I mentioned I'm glad he's home??)
