Happy 36th to Me.....

Have I mentioned how much I love my Birthday???
Because I do.
Love it that is...

But this year.... I wasn't in the "Birthday" mood...

Dyeing my hair right before I get a year older, probably wasn't the best idea..... (at least it's finally growing on me...)

I also was in MUCH better shape this time last year....in fact...last  year, I was my goal weight....

So this year, 36 has been tough to swallow.

And I wasn't shy about sharing my blue state...

I will say that my friends did their best to show me the best time possible- ( of course-they are awesome friends ....that's what they do best)

My Birthday weekend started off with Mani-Pedi's with Lynne

and Lindsey...
And some wine..

And then we headed over to Rakestraw Books in Danville.
The author of our Book Club Book was doing a book signing for her book that was released the weekend of my Birthday.
My Friend Summer read that she was coming to her town and told us all about it.
I was so excited.
The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister
Go out and read it.  You will thank me.
I promise.
She is SO talented, and just about the nicest woman you will ever meet.
She was so inspiring.
And she even signed my Book "Happy Birthday"
Love. That.

After that we headed to That Bar in Danville.
I had almost all of my girls there to celebrate with me.
But...
I just wasn't feelin it this year....
I was in a funk.
I hated my hair, nothing fit before I left, I was feeling old....

And they tried. They really did....
But it was so hard to shake my funk.

They even bought me the Hunter boots I have wanted for YEARS.
But when I tried them on, they wouldn't fit over my newly chubbed out calves.
Throwing me a bit deeper into the dumps.

It was so nice to be with everyone.

I wish I was in a better place.

These ladies mean the world to me.

But after years and years of friendship....they know that my funks don't last long
And before long I get into the spirit...

And get back to my old self....

Saturday Morning my Husband surprised me with my favorite secret indulgence...
Chick Fil A Breakfast....
Yuuuuum.
(I love it when he does sweet things like this for me....it's stuff like this that makes me love him so...)

Sunday we got a visit from our favorite photographers!

I just LOVE them!
I can't wait to see our proofs!!
Here's a little sneak peak....

My ACTUAL Birthday started at the Trophy store picking up our Fantasy Football Champions Trophy.
(more on that later)

Then off to Noahs for one of my favorite breakfasts.
MMMmmmmm

Then I had some surprise visitors bearing gifts!
Love my new Lobster sign from Laura!

They made my day! I love being surprised!

Mary brought me my favorite flower.
I love love love Flowers.
ESPECIALLY tulips.
Love. Her.

I received Birthday text from my family.

And adorable gifts from people who love me.

How cute is this lobster and crab cooler bags??
Can't WAIT to use them this summer!

After presents we headed out to shop.
Donnie came along for the ride.

For lunch we went to the Neiman Marcus Cafe

I was treated to my favorite champagne...

and the most amazing lunch.
They will split anything for you.
So I had half of my Mom's Seafood Louie, and she had half of my Mahi-Mahi tacos.
Delicious.

I love the cookies they give you on  your way out....

I'd like to say the rest of the day was perfect.

but that's just not life sometimes.

Sometimes in life you get in a tiff with your Husband on your Birthday...

And sometimes...

Your daughter get's the flu...and you are cleaning Puke on your Birthday.....

Some years are better than others is what I'm learning at the ripe old age of 36.

And as moody as I was....

My Birthday was pretty great.

Wonderful family, Amazing Friends, I have my health, adorable children, and my main squeeze.

Here's to 36!

  2. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen that order at Noah's Bagels. :) I didn't realize how MUCH you did for your birthday! Let's start thinking about next year, shall we? When is it acceptable to do Tahoe again? :)
