This weekend we headed up to Inverness to celebrate our upcoming 15 years of Marriage on Friday.
15 years deserves a little R and R....
Don't you think???
So Mom and Dad came down to watch the kids....
And to Tomales Bay we went...
I never get tired of this view....
Friday night we tried a new restaurant in Point Reyes.
Clay said it was the best Pizza he has ever had...
I branched out and tried a local brew...
Saturday morning started out very lazy in bed...
Mr. Kirby brought me my "coffee" in bed to enjoy with my morning read....
No kids at 5:00am...no dog barking....
it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
We took our time getting up, and headed into town for breakfast.
There is an adorable diner in town.
It has that small town feel to it.
There were buckets of toys next to our table.
Maddie would have been in heaven.
My egg white omelet with spinach, avocado and caramelized onion was sooooo good.
After breakfast we explored the town.
First stop
My favorite....
Cow Girl Creamery...
Oh how I wish I could take every last one home...
Saturday Mornings in Point Reyes are bumpin!
We walked through the farmers market.
And the general store...
And the museum of artifacts.
Usually we have the kids and our time is limited...we either have to head back to the house for naps, or someone is having a breakdown, or we are all exhausted...
it's amazing how much energy you and your spouse have when it's just the two of you...
;)
So we decided to head up the coast ...
No set plan....
Just a drive up Highway 1.
Along the way we stopped if something looked interesting...
This little house is in Marshall. Population 50.
It's an Antique shop.
How adorable is that?
We stopped in Bodega where the Birds was filmed.
That's me and Mr. Hitchcock.
The General Store in Bodega had all the Birds memorabilia you could want....
I opted for a snack instead.
Through all the little towns there were merchants along the roads.
I just love tiny little towns.
There were a TON of antique shops..
On the side of the road...there was a tiny store completely dedicated to Salt Water Taffy.
Every flavor on the planet. And a HUGE bag was $1.50.
Deal!!
Down the way in Bodega Bay was this little house.
Wine tasting from all the local wineries.
They had a small deck that overlooked the bay where you could enjoy your tasting.
3 tastes for $9.
Dude.
Look how generous their pour was!
It was 80 with a cool breeze.
Perfect.
Perfect.
Perfect.
We sat back...
And relaxed....
And talked about everything grown ups talk about.....
The conversation AND wine were good to the last drop.
After our drive up the coast we headed back to relax at the cabin.
A perfect end to a perfect day.
15 years.
I can't believe it.
I love you to the moon and back.
;)
