Easter Weekend 2012

Easter weekend started with a Birthday Bash for Pop.

This Monday he will be 80.
Pop is such an amazing man. It was so nice to get together and celebrate him.

Here he is with all of his grandchildren and great grand children.
Everyone stood up and said something about him.
I cried.
It was hard not too.
I love him so much.

We were so tired after the party, we were ready to go straight to bed to prepare for the Easter Bunny.

He left the kids just a few fun gifts.

And some chocolate
of course.
Madeline is an ears first kind of girl.

Nonu gave Jack a new dart gun and target set.

Madeline got all fancied up.

And Jack enjoyed some Nascar.

Madeline was given a jewelry box to keep all her "valuables" in.

After baskets I whipped up some breakfast, Pinterest style.

Have you seen the recipe were you take cinnamon rolls and put them in your waffle iron?

Well......

It works!
And is so easy!
They cook in no time, and are delicious.
These may become a special morning staple in the Kirbyface household.

And for those in our home that are not eating carbs...
I made this wilted spinach and baked eggs.
You just saute spinach, put it in a dish, crack two eggs and bake until the eggs are done.
Super easy!
and
SUPER delicious!
I added some parmesan for additional flavor.
So, so good.

After our mid day nap, we headed to Mimi and Gumpy's.
Madeline snuck into the cookies a bit early...

Jack was very excited to hunt for eggs.

Madeline started to catch on too.

Jack went for speed.

Madeline took a slower approach and accepted some guidance.

Even Uncle Justin assisted...
Please note her pink flower basket in HIS hand....

I think the entire hunt from start to finish took 13 minutes.

Gumpy helped Madeline divvy up her loot.

I didn't get any photos of the spread that Mimi put together.
But it was delicious.
MMMmmmm Ham...

I can't believe Easter has come and gone...
This year feels like it's flying by!

Happy Easter from our family to yours!

  2. I had that wilted spinach and eggs almost every day last week, lol.

Don't tell Mason kids are allowed to eat chocolate bunnies... we may or may not have told him they were only for adults. ;)
