This story begins in September of 1994.
I met a girl.
She liked my laugh.
We became friends.
Just. Like. That.
And then in almost no time, we became close friends.
One night, I told her my life story. All 17 years of it, and she looked at me and said: "Someday I'm going to write your life story." and I looked back at her and said "Someday I bet you will."
I have always referred to Roseanne as my English major friend. You know...The creative one....
The Writer.
All of my written papers, important emails, speeches, work presentations, etc. Have been edited and approved by Rose. For the last 20 years.
It's no secret I'm one of her biggest fans.
So a few years back when she told me she was working on a book, I was not surprised in the least.
Of course she's writing a book. She's Roseanne.
Well...
This smart, talented, amazing friend of mine did write a book.
And although it's not my life story, (I'm sure it's still a work in progress, I have a lot more living to do...I mean a girl needs material...Right Rose?) it is a fantastic novel. And believe it or not, I read it. All of it.(of course I read it!)
And just when I thought I could not be more proud of this girl, I am. I beamed with pride all the way across the country and had the honor of being present for the launch of her book, and her first book signing.
I took the PJ. You know...that's how I roll.
Just kidding. Living in the middle of no where means you have to take the smallest plane imaginable to my connecting flight...because no flights are direct when you live in farm country. *sigh*
On a side note, because our airport is so tiny, you get to deal with a human when you check in and get your boarding pass, and I was upgraded for free! Score!
I celebrated with a Mom Beverage.
I could not get there fast enough.
And when I arrived...
These two adorable faces met me at the door.
I was present with Rose and her Mom as we opened the finished product.
We cried.
I will forever remember that moment.
Forever.
The book signing took place at the most adorable local book store.
Watching Roseanne interact with people was mesmerising. She is a natural. She is so engaging and genuine. You would have thought she had been doing this her whole life.
She had quite the turn out.
And her speech was wonderful.
I'm not alone in thinking this woman is amazing. For a mother of two to accomplish something like this, it's incredible. And not just any mother of two. A completely engaged, stay at home, activity participating, game playing, playdough sculpting, swim lesson taking, music class cringing, little gym tumbling, reading (clearly), singing, princess dressing, finger painting, snow sled pulling, mother of two, and supportive wife to one. No one slipped through the cracks during the process. She is a wonderful daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. She is always there for everyone, and in her spare moments to herself. She. Wrote. A. Book. Can you handle that?? Because I can't.

I got to share in all the fun with one of my besties.
Teegie was right there with me to cheer on our girl.
As soon as I got home I marched that book right into my own child's school and got out my pom-poms to help assist in any way. It's easy to gush about something you feel so strongly about. So while I'm at it....you can purchase her book

This girl has been there for me through so much. SO much. And there's not a doubt in my mind that she will be there for me for so much more.
